CERTIFICATION

Emergency Paediatric First Aid Level 3- FAA Accredited 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid has been accredited by the regulators of England (Ofqual). It is supported by Skills for Care and Development, the Sector Skills Council for the social work, care and children’s workforces.

The qualification has a minimum guided learning hour’s value of 10 hours, however it has been agreed with the First Aid Awarding Organisation Forum that the qualification has a minimum contact time of 6 hours, over a period of 1 day.

 

These same requirements also state that this qualification can also be delivered over a maximum of a 6 week period, with the minimum duration of each training session being 2 hours.

 

WHO IS IT DESIGNED FOR

This qualification is designed for those learners wishing to become a paediatric first aider in the workplace with a responsibility for the welfare of infants and children. This qualification is intended for learners already working or preparing to work in industry.

Learners gaining this qualification will know that first aid is the responsibility of everyone involved in the working environment.

 

Topics within this course are regarded by the Early Years Foundation Stage as being important to maintaining good practice in the safe, prompt and effective treatment of injuries and ill health of infants and children who are under the care of trained personnel.

This qualification meets the requirements for Paediatric First Aid outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage 2014.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Learners are required to be 16 years of age prior to certification. It is advised that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy.
